VentureBox Programs

VentureBox supports our entrepreneurs with a top quality program curriculum based on best practices from the world's leading startup programs. Fundamental to our vision are the principles of the "Lean Startup Process" originally conceptualized by Steven Blank serial entrepreneur and award winning professor at Stanford University, these principles form the foundation upon which all of the VentureBox' contributions are built. Working with Luxr Inc in San Francisco, VentureBox has developed a Lean Startup curriculum that helps startups effectively structure, plan, develop and launch their businesses with agility and customer centered design.

Our startup companies also engage with partnering investors during an Investors Day event to obtain seed level funding to launch their businesses. To help contribute to our program's success, startups have access to our top-notch mentors, available through EDCO's Stable of Experts, throughout this entire process.

Venture Launch

Our flagship program is the Venture Launch boot camp. Based on best practices from leading startup accelerators, this intensive 12-week curriculum helps startups effectively structure, plan, develop and launch their businesses. Some of the topics covered include:

The startup experience, vision and values; legal structures.- Market research, size, growth and share, vertical markets, lead customers, position sustainability, branding, PR.- Production definition & the development processes, intellectual property, sourcing- Co-founders & leadership team; organizational development; HR, outsourcing.- Developing a P&L, performance metrics, funding alternatives, approaching investors, negotiations involving equity.- Investor Day Pitch

Venture Development

The Venture Development program provides concept companies and early stage entrepreneurs with access to VentureBox staff and subject matter experts to get a company ready for Venture Launch, or similar startup programs. This program allows entrepreneurs to strategically navigate the world of startups, entrepreneurs, and investors to ensure that the proper actions are pursued to build a successful company. What are the Selection Criteria?

The criteria for selection of participants will include an evaluation of founding teams, a strong command of the customer and the problem, overall market expertise, extensive knowledge of the pain in the market, and an innovative solution. The solution you propose should challenge conventional wisdom that exists in the market today.

VentureBox Application Process

We require all program applicants to submit basic data via the Gust website (gust.com) that will allow our team to qualify companies before participating in the selection process. Based on the number and quality of applications, we select 5 to 7 companies to participate in the Venture Launch Program with the first Session beginning February 15, 2012 and concluding May 8, 2012 with our "Investor's Day" event.
